Spotify for Android
Spotify for Android was launched the same day as the iPhone App was release on the 7th of September. It is avalible through Android Market and can be used by anybody with a Spotify premium account.
Spotify for Android was first announced when the application was demonstrated at Google I/O on the 27th of May 2009. The demonstration shows an application with all of the functions were used to from the standard Spotify. But the most crucial function demonstrated is the “offline mode”. The offline mode gives you the option to store the song you want locally so that you can listen to them even without a connection.
Spotify for Android has no public release date. But the Swedish mobile phone chain store Dialect sent out a press release on the 23 of June saying they will be able help their customers install the mobile version of Spotify on Android phones soon (see news item).
